LSE trades plummet amid fears of switch to 'dark pools'

런던증권거래소의 거래량이 Dark pool 등장으로 급감하고 있다는 소식.

The value of equities traded on the exchange tumbled to £91.7bn, less than half the sum traded in the same month last year, and the worst July – measured by value of trades – since 2004. With 12.2m trades, it was also the worst month by volume since December 2007.

이같은 거래량 감소가 Dark pool 증가의 반작용으로 분석하고 있으며,
Dark pool의 증가는 투자자들의 수요가 집중되고 있기 때문임을 인정하지 않을 수 없다는 점이다.

다만 Dark pool의 문제는 투명하지 못한 거래가 성립될 수 있다는 점에서,
장내 거래형태의 새로운 거래소 설립으로 투명성(tranparency)를 확보할 필요가 있다.
