Citibank, BI Being Sued Over Derivatives ‘Trick’

인도네시아의 거대 팜오일 생산기업이 Citi bank에 대해 파생상품 계약과 관련하여 소송을 제기

한국에서는 KIKO로, 브라질에서도 파생상품 논란이 있었는데,
동남아시아에서도 파생상품 관련 소송이 끊이지 않는군.

10여년전 동아시아 금융위기 와중에 벌어졌던 파생상품 관련 소송이 떠오르는군.

Harry said that his client had also demanded that Citibank annul the contract, arguing that it had not been signed with the approval of the company’s board of directors, as required by its articles of incorporation.
Harry also claimed the contract was unfair as Citibank had an unconditional right to terminate the contract, while Permata would have to pay a stiff penalty if it wished to do the same.
Permata also sought damages of $10 million from Citibank, and that it waive a claim of $23 million against the company.
